- 4 salmon fillets
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon oil (olive or vegetable)
Instructions
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, and minced garlic.
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a tablespoon of oil until shimmering.
- Place the salmon skin-side down in the pan and sear for 3-4 minutes until golden.
- Carefully flip the salmon, pour the glaze over it, and let it simmer for 3-5 minutes until just cooked through.
- Transfer to plates, drizzle with extra glaze, and garnish with sliced green onions.
Notes
For varied flavors, substitute soy sauce with tamari for gluten-free or coconut aminos for a lighter touch.
