Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 fat ratio)
- 6 strips thick-cut bacon
- 4 slices sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 cups pretzel dough (homemade or store-bought)
- Toppings: lettuce, tomato, sautéed mushrooms, pickles, mustard
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ cup baking soda (for boiling)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pretzel Dough: Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let froth for 10 minutes. Add flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth.
- Make the Bacon and Burger Patties: Fry bacon until crispy; set aside. Season ground beef and form small patties. Cook them in the same skillet until desired doneness.
- Shape and Boil the Pretzel Buns: Divide dough, shape into balls, and flatten. Boil each in baking soda water for 30 seconds, then transfer to a baking sheet.
- Assemble and Bake: On each bun, place a bacon strip and burger patty, top with cheese, seal, and bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a healthier option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken. Experiment with different toppings for added flavors.
