- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1–2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
- Dash of vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
- Peel, core, and finely chop the apples; toss with a dash of cinnamon.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- In another bowl, melt butter and let it cool; mix in eggs, milk, and vanilla.
- Gradually combine wet and dry ingredients, folding gently.
- Fold in the apples until evenly distributed.
- Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity 2/3 full.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow cooling in the pan before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the glaze, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla; drizzle over the cooled donuts.
- Let the glaze set and enjoy!
Notes
Use room temperature ingredients for a smoother batter. Don’t overmix to keep the donuts light and fluffy. Adjust milk if using juicy apples.
