- 4 tart apples (e.g., Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1/2 cup dried cranberries
- 1/2 cup walnuts or pecans (chopped)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Halve the apples and remove the cores to create a cavity.
- In a mixing bowl, combine feta, cranberries, nuts, and spices.
- Stuff each apple half with the filling.
- Drizzle honey over the top of the stuffed apples.
- Place the apples in a baking dish and pour water into the bottom. Cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 25 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until the tops are slightly crispy.
- Serve warm or chilled as desired.
Notes
For a twist, substitute goat cheese for feta or maple syrup for honey. Adjust baking times based on apple size.
