Description

A comforting and gourmet dessert that combines sweet baked pears with creamy goat cheese, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with tart cranberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 firm ripe pears (Bosc or Anjou)
  • 8 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup fresh or dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare the pears by slicing them in half lengthwise and carefully removing the core. Place them cut side up in a baking dish.
  3. Add goat cheese into the center of each pear half.
  4. Drizzle honey over the cheese and into the cavity of the pears.
  5. Sprinkle cranberries evenly over the pears.
  6. Add chopped walnuts or pecans on top if desired.
  7. Bake for about 25–30 minutes, or until the pears are tender and the cheese is slightly browned.
  8. Serve warm, drizzled with any remaining honey from the baking dish.

Notes

Choose firm but ripe pears to avoid mushiness. Allow the dish to cool briefly after baking to meld the flavors.
