- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 8 ounces button or cremini mushrooms, sliced
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 cup fried onions
- Optional: shredded cheese for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until golden brown, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add sliced mushrooms to the skillet and sauté until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in cream of mushroom soup and soy sauce; simmer until well combined.
- In a mixing bowl, combine sautéed mixture with fresh green beans, stirring until coated.
- Pour mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and spread evenly.
- Top with fried onions.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
- Let cool before serving.
Notes
For best results, do not overcook the green beans. You can prepare this dish a day ahead and refrigerate before baking.
