  3. Mix dry ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Cream the butter and sugar: Beat together softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Incorporate the eggs: Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Add wet ingredients: Stir in buttermilk and vanilla extract until combined.
