- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1/2 cup black sesame seeds
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a pound cake pan by greasing it with butter and lightly flouring it.
- Mix the dry ingredients: whole wheat flour, black sesame seeds, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cream the softened butter and sugar together using an electric mixer until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each one.
- Combine the dry mixture with the butter and egg mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and finishing with flour.
- Fold in extra black sesame seeds.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
