Description

A vibrant and fresh salsa made with ripe tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, cilantro, and lime juice, perfect for dipping or as a topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 12 jalapeños or chipotle peppers, seeds removed for milder salsa
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: chopped garlic, lime zest, diced avocado

Instructions

  1. Prep your ingredients: Rinse tomatoes, cilantro, and jalapeños. Cut them roughly.
  2. Add to blender: Combine chopped tomatoes, onion, jalapeños, and cilantro in the blender. Squeeze in lime juice and sprinkle with salt.
  3. Blend: Secure the lid and blend on high for 15-30 seconds, aiming for a chunky texture.
  4. Taste and adjust: Taste your salsa and adjust seasoning with more salt, lime, or spice as needed.
  5. Chill: Let the salsa chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes before serving to meld flavors.
  6. Serve: Scoop into a bowl, garnish with cilantro, and serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for grilled meats.

Notes

For a unique twist, consider adding diced avocado for creaminess or cumin for an earthy flavor. Pulse blend instead of continuously blending for a chunky salsa.
