Ingredients

- 1 lb (450g) ground meat (beef or lamb)
- 1 medium onion, chopped finely
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp curry powder
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- ½ cup dried apricots or raisins, chopped
- ¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 2 large eggs, whisked
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (fresh or dried)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Sauté the onions in a splash of olive oil until translucent, then add garlic and ginger.
- Combine the ground meat with the sautéed mixture, dried fruits, and spices.
- Incorporate breadcrumbs and eggs into the meat mixture, mixing gently.
- Shape into golf ball-sized meatballs.
- Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Whisk together the remaining eggs and milk; pour over meatballs and bake for another 15 minutes.
Notes
Experiment with different ground meats or make it vegetarian with lentils. Allow meatballs to rest before baking for better texture.
