- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and chopped
- 1/2 cup brandy
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup dark or semi-sweet chocolate chunks
Instructions
- Combine cherries with brandy in a bowl and let macerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, and salt until the sugar dissolves.
- Gently fold the cherry mixture into the cream base.
- Pour mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to instructions (about 20-25 minutes), adding chocolate chunks in the last 5 minutes.
- Transfer to a container and freeze for at least 4 hours before serving.
Notes
For non-alcoholic option, substitute brandy with cherry juice. For dairy-free, use coconut cream.
