Delightfully sweet and tangy candied cranberries, perfect for holiday gatherings or as a sweet addition to salads and desserts.
Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
Instructions
- Rinse cranberries under cold water and discard any damaged ones.
- In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until sugar dissolves.
- Add vanilla extract when mixture is clear and about to boil.
- Once boiling, add cranberries and reduce heat to simmer for 10-15 minutes until berries pop.
- Remove from heat and let cranberries cool in syrup for 1 hour.
- If desired, coat cranberries with sugar after cooling.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Notes
For extra flavor, add a tablespoon of lemon zest during simmering. Consider using brown sugar for a richer taste.
