Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate (or white chocolate)
  • 23 candy canes, crushed
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (or coconut oil)
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 12 tbsp granulated sugar (or powdered stevia)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Chop chocolate into small pieces and melt in a double boiler, stirring continuously until smooth.
  2. Prepare heart-shaped molds by brushing with melted butter or using non-stick spray.
  3. Once melted, stir in vanilla extract and pinch of salt.
  4. Pour melted chocolate into molds halfway, tapping to remove air bubbles.
  5. Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top while the chocolate is still soft, pressing gently.
  6. Place molds in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until chocolate is set.
  7. Carefully remove hearts from molds and store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Notes

Experiment with different types of chocolate and flavorings such as almond or peppermint extract for a unique twist.
