Description
Delightful chocolate hearts infused with crushed candy canes, perfect for holiday gatherings and creating warm memories.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate (or white chocolate)
- 2–3 candy canes, crushed
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (or coconut oil)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1–2 tbsp granulated sugar (or powdered stevia)
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Chop chocolate into small pieces and melt in a double boiler, stirring continuously until smooth.
- Prepare heart-shaped molds by brushing with melted butter or using non-stick spray.
- Once melted, stir in vanilla extract and pinch of salt.
- Pour melted chocolate into molds halfway, tapping to remove air bubbles.
- Sprinkle crushed candy canes on top while the chocolate is still soft, pressing gently.
- Place molds in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until chocolate is set.
- Carefully remove hearts from molds and store in an airtight container in the fridge.
Notes
Experiment with different types of chocolate and flavorings such as almond or peppermint extract for a unique twist.
