Description

Delightful heart-shaped lollipops with a sweet and minty flavor, perfect for holiday gifting and celebrations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract (or peppermint oil)
  • Red food coloring
  • White food coloring

Instructions

  1. Prepare your lollipop molds, preferably heart-shaped or holiday-themed.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup, and water. Stir until fully combined and place on medium-high heat.
  3. Bring the mixture to a boil without stirring. Monitor the temperature with a candy thermometer until it reaches 300°F (hard crack stage).
  4. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly before adding peppermint extract and food coloring. Stir gently.
  5. Quickly pour the hot candy into molds, inserting lollipop sticks before the candy hardens.
  6. Let cool for at least an hour or until hardened. Carefully remove from molds and package or display.

Notes

Using a heavy-bottomed saucepan helps prevent scorching. Use a candy thermometer for best results.
