Description

A nostalgic and delightful dessert combining caramelized apples and a flaky puff pastry, perfect for family gatherings or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium Granny Smith apples
  • 4 medium Honeycrisp apples
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Instructions

  1. Peel, core, and slice the apples into even wedges. Toss them in lemon juice.
  2. In a skillet, melt sugar over medium heat until it reaches amber color. Stir occasionally.
  3. Add butter and cinnamon to the caramel, mixing well.
  4. Arrange the apple wedges in the skillet with the caramel.
  5. Cover the apples with rolled-out puff pastry, tucking the edges into the skillet.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes.
  7. Cool slightly, then flip onto a serving plate.
  8. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

Ensure the apples are dry before adding them to the caramel to prevent splitting.
