- 4 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 4 medium Fuji apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Toss the apple wedges with lemon juice to keep them fresh.
- In a heavy skillet, melt sugar over medium heat until it turns golden brown.
- Add butter and stir until fully melted and combined.
- Carefully arrange the apple wedges in the caramel and sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Place the puff pastry over the fruit mixture, tucking in the edges.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden and flaky.
- Let it cool slightly before inverting onto a serving plate and serve warm.
