Description
Delightful jumbo pasta shells stuffed with creamy chicken Alfredo and topped with gooey mozzarella, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 12 jumbo pasta shells
- 2 cups cooked chicken, diced or shredded
- 2 cups Alfredo sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil, for drizzling
Instructions
- Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the jumbo shells until they are al dente. Drain and set aside, drizzled with olive oil.
- Dice or shred the cooked chicken, sauté with minced garlic and butter until warm.
- For homemade Alfredo, melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour until smooth, then slowly incorporate cream and Parmesan until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a baking dish, pour a little Alfredo sauce on the bottom. Stuff each shell generously with the chicken mixture, seam-side up in the dish.
- Cover the shells with the remaining Alfredo sauce. Top with mozzarella and herbs.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Feel free to substitute chicken with sautéed mushrooms for a vegetarian option. Homemade white sauce can also replace store-bought Alfredo for a personal touch.
