Description

A beloved comfort dish featuring tender chicken, crispy breadcrumbs, rich marinara sauce, and melted cheese, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Boneless Chicken (breast or thighs)
  • Breadcrumbs (panko or Italian-seasoned)
  • 2 Eggs
  • Marinara Sauce
  • Fresh Mozzarella Cheese
  • Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • Fresh Basil
  • Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly pound the chicken breasts between plastic wrap for even cooking. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Set up your breading station: In one bowl, beat the eggs. In another, mix breadcrumbs with grated Parmesan and herbs. Dip each piece of chicken into the egg, then coat it in the breadcrumb mixture.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the breaded chicken for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate.
  4. Spread marinara sauce in a baking dish, place fried chicken on top, cover with more sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until cheese is bubbly. Broil for an extra 2-3 minutes if you like extra crispy cheese.
  6. Sprinkle with fresh basil before serving. Pair with pasta or salad.
