Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the brewed coffee, egg, and heavy cream. Pour this mixture into the flour mixture.
  6. Gently mix until combined, being careful not to overwork the dough.
  7. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, shape it into a disc about 1-inch thick, and cut into wedges or round shapes.
