Ingredients

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Grease ramekins with butter and dust with flour or cocoa powder.
  3. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave, stir until smooth, and let cool slightly.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar and eggs until pale and thickened.
  5. Gradually mix in the melted chocolate mixture, then fold in the flour and vanilla.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling halfway.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are set but center is soft.
  8. Let them sit for a minute, then invert onto plates and serve while warm.

Notes

Refrigerate unbaked cakes and add 1-2 extra minutes to baking time when ready to bake.
