Description
Delightful heart-shaped cookies with a rich chocolate flavor and buttery texture, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter, softened
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar
- 1/4 cup Brown Sugar
- 1 1/2 cups All-Purpose Flour
- 1/2 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 tsp Salt
- Optional: 1/2 cup Chocolate Chips
- Optional: Sea Salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cream together the unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add in the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- If using, fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Roll out the cookie dough to about ¼ inch thick on a floured surface. Cut out cookies using a heart-shaped cookie cutter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top of each cookie.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are slightly firm and the centers remain soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure butter is at room temperature before starting. Refrigerate cut dough for 30 minutes if cookies spread too much during baking.
