Description

Delightful chocolate cups filled with gooey caramel, perfect for holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz high-quality chocolate (dark or semi-sweet)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler or microwave until smooth.
  2. Coat the insides of cupcake liners with a layer of chocolate and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  3. In a saucepan, combine sugar and butter over medium heat until light golden, then add heavy cream, whisking until blended. Cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and sea salt.
  5. Fill the chocolate cups with caramel, about three-quarters full.
  6. Top with another layer of melted chocolate to seal.
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes until set.
