Description
Deliciously crispy sourdough roll-ups filled with sautéed mushrooms, aromatic herbs, and gooey cheese, perfect for a festive gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- Sourdough Dough
- 200g Mushrooms (cremini or shiitake)
- 100g Mozzarella Cheese
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Fresh thyme or oregano
- 2 tbsp Butter or Olive Oil
Instructions
- Prepare the Dough: If using homemade sourdough, ensure it’s properly proofed before rolling it out. Roll the dough into a rectangular shape on a lightly floured surface.
- Sauté the Filling: In a skillet, heat some olive oil, and add chopped mushrooms and minced garlic. Sauté until the mushrooms are golden brown and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs. Let cool slightly.
- Fill the Roll-Ups: Spread the sautéed mixture evenly over the rolled-out dough. Sprinkle cheese over the filling. Roll from one end to the other and slice into equal pieces.
- Bake to Perfection: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Arrange roll-ups on a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with melted butter or oil, and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and bubbling.
- Serve Warm: Let them cool briefly and serve with pizza sauce or pesto for dipping.
Notes
You can prepare the filling a day in advance for convenience. Freeze unbaked roll-ups for future use.
