Ingredients
- Dried fruits (raisins, currants, sultanas)
- Mixed peel or candied citrus zest
- Fresh breadcrumbs
- All-purpose flour
- Brown sugar
- Spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice)

- Good quality unsalted butter
- Eggs
- Brandy
Instructions
- Prepare your pudding mixture: Combine all dried fruits, mixed peel, and nuts in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the breadcrumbs and flour, then mix well.
- Incorporate the spices and brown sugar, then fold in the softened butter.
- Add the eggs and brandy, and mix thoroughly.
- Steam the pudding in a greased basin for 6-8 hours over simmering water.
- Cool completely before removing from the basin and storing until Christmas Day.
- Prepare the brandy butter by whipping together butter, icing sugar, and brandy until smooth.
- Serve the warm pudding with a generous dollop of brandy butter.
