Description

Delightful Christmas Tree Cake Macarons that capture the flavors and festive spirit of the holiday season.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups almond flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 large egg whites
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • Gel food coloring (green)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ⅓ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare your kitchen: Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Make the macaron batter: In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour and powdered sugar, sifting them together. In a separate bowl, whip the egg whites until frothy, then gradually add granulated sugar while whipping until stiff peaks form.
  3. Fold in the dry ingredients: Gently fold the almond flour mixture into the meringue, being careful not to deflate the eggs.
  4. Add color: Mix in the gel food coloring until you achieve the desired shade of green.
  5. Pipe the macarons: Fit a piping bag with a round tip and pipe small circles onto the baking sheets.
  6. Rest the macarons: Allow them to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  7. Bake: Place them in the oven for 15-18 minutes, rotating trays halfway through.
  8. Make the buttercream filling: Beat the softened butter, then gradually add heavy cream, vanilla, and sugar until fluffy.
  9. Assemble: Pair macaron shells and pipe buttercream onto one shell before sandwiching them together.
  10. Final touch: Add edible glitter or sprinkles for decoration.

Notes

Allow macarons to cool completely before removing them from the parchment. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week.
