Description

A delightful and flavorful dish featuring fresh crab meat, fluffy rice, and aromatic vegetables, perfect for family gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups day-old cooked rice
  • 1 cup fresh lump crab meat (or canned crab meat)
  • 2 tbsp canola or sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup peas (fresh or frozen)
  • 2 scallions, chopped
  • 2 eggs, whisked
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Ingredients: Gather and chop your vegetables, crack the eggs, and measure out your sauces.
  2. Heat the Skillet: In a large skillet or wok, heat oil over medium-high heat until it shimmers.
  3. Sauté Aromatics: Add garlic and onions, sautéing until fragrant and golden.
  4. Add Rice: Push aromatics to one side and add the day-old rice, pressing down gently to brown.
  5. Incorporate Crab: Gently fold in crab meat and heat through without breaking it too much.
  6. Add the Eggs: Push rice mixture aside, pour in scrambled eggs, stirring until cooked, then mix into rice.
  7. Season: Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sesame oil, mixing well to combine.
  8. Finish with Veggies: Stir in peas and scallions just before removing from heat.
  9. Serve and Enjoy: Plate warm with extra scallions as garnish.

Notes

Use day-old rice for best texture. Avoid too much liquid to keep it from becoming mushy.
