Instructions
- Make the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together flour and salt. Combine with the yeast mixture and add softened butter until a dough forms.
- Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Let it rise in a greased bowl for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Prepare Filling: Mix cream cheese, cinnamon, and brown sugar in a bowl until smooth.
- Roll Out the Dough: Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the Filling: Evenly spread the cream cheese mixture over the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
- Roll It Up: Roll the dough tightly from one long side and pinch the seams to seal.
- Cut the Rolls: Slice the log into 1-2 inch sections and place in a greased baking dish or on a parchment-lined sheet.
- Second Rise: Let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes until puffy.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
