Ingredients

  • Pasta (fettuccine, linguine, or spaghetti)
  • Fresh garlic, minced
  • Fresh shrimp or scallops
  • Heavy cream
  • Unsalted butter (or olive oil)
  • White wine
  • Fresh parsley or basil
  • Grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente; reserve a cup of pasta water.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant (1-2 minutes).
  3. Add seafood and cook until shrimp are pink or scallops are golden (2-3 minutes per side).
  4. Pour in white wine and scrape the pan to incorporate bits; simmer for 2 minutes.
  5. Stir in heavy cream and add Parmesan. Adjust sauce thickness with reserved pasta water if necessary.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and herbs; toss in pasta until well coated.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan and herbs.
