Description
A delightful sandwich featuring crispy chicken, romaine lettuce, and creamy Caesar dressing, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 boneless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup Caesar dressing (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 head romaine lettuce, chopped
- 4 slices of ciabatta bread or hearty buns
- 4 slices of bacon (optional)
- 2 eggs, beaten (for dredging)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Butter or oil for cooking
Instructions
- Prepare the chicken: Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge in breadcrumbs, double-dipping in beaten egg if desired.
- Cook the chicken: Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
- Prepare the toast: In the same skillet, lightly toast the ciabatta or buns until golden and crispy.
- Assemble the sandwich: Start with the toasted bread, layer on romaine, Caesar dressing, sliced chicken, and sprinkle with Parmesan and bacon.
- Final touch: Top with the second slice of bread, slice in half, and serve with extra dressing on the side.
Notes
For added crunch, consider using crushed crackers or cornflakes as substitutes for breadcrumbs. Let the chicken rest before slicing to retain juices.
