Description
Deliciously crispy chicken wings coated in a sweet and savory glaze, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the wings: Start by cleaning your chicken wings. Pat them dry with paper towels to ensure they fry up crispy.
- Whisk the marinade: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, honey, and a sprinkle of salt and black pepper.
- Marinate: Add the wings to the marinade, ensuring they’re completely covered. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Coat with cornstarch: Once marinated, drain excess marinade off the wings. Toss the wings in cornstarch, ensuring an even coating.
- Heat the oil: In a deep skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat, ensuring enough oil to submerge the wings halfway.
- Fry the wings: Carefully place the wings in the hot oil. Fry for about 10–12 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain and serve: Remove the wings and let them drain on paper towels. Toss in leftover cooked marinade or sprinkle with sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
For extra crispiness, consider double frying the wings. Ensure the oil temperature is maintained between 350°F to 375°F.
