- 4 cups fresh cranberries
- 2 cups apples, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup sugar (or honey/maple syrup as a substitute)
- 1/2 cup citrus juice (orange or lemon)
- 1 tablespoon citrus zest
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 packet pectin (optional)
Instructions
- Prep the ingredients: Rinse the cranberries and peel, core, and chop the apples. Zest and juice your citrus fruits.
- Mix everything in your slow cooker: Combine the cranberries, apples, sugar, citrus juice, zest, and spices. Stir gently.
- Set your slow cooker on low for about 240 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- Add pectin 30 minutes before it’s done if you desire a thicker texture.
- Jar it up once thickened, ladling into sterilized jars leaving space for expansion.
- Cool and store: Allow jars to cool completely before sealing. Refrigerate for up to 14 days.
