Description

A festive jam bursting with the sweetness of cranberries, orange zest, and warming spices, perfect for holiday gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh cranberries (or frozen)
  • 2 cups sugar (brown sugar or maple syrup optional)
  • 1/2 cup orange zest and juice
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or almond extract)

Instructions

  1. Rinse cranberries and discard any damaged ones. Zest and juice oranges.
  2. Combine cranberries, sugar, orange juice, orange zest, spices, and vanilla extract in a crockpot. Stir gently to mix.
  3. Set crockpot on low and cook for 4-6 hours, stirring occasionally.
  4. Check for consistency; jam is ready when cranberries burst and mixture thickens.
  5. Let cool slightly, then jar in sterilized containers.

Notes

Can be adjusted with a splash of bourbon or cayenne pepper for an adult twist. Store in the refrigerator for up to four weeks.
