- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- 1/2 cup milk (or almond/oat milk)
- 1 egg (or applesauce for vegan)
- 1/4 cup melted butter (or coconut oil)
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and prepare your donut pan by greasing it.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and maple syrup. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mix and stir gently until combined.
- Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool slightly before transferring to a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and maple syrup in a small bowl. Drizzle over the cooled donuts.
- Enjoy fresh or store in an airtight container!
Notes
Store leftover donuts in an airtight container for 2-3 days. They can also be frozen for up to a month.
