Description
Tender and juicy chicken skewers marinated in a rich honey garlic sauce, perfect for summer cookouts and family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless chicken (breast or thighs), cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce (low-sodium if preferred)
- 2 tablespoons sesame oil
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- Green onions, for garnish
- Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Whisk until well blended.
- Marinate the Chicken: Add chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor.
- Preheat the Grill: Heat your grill to medium-high, ensuring grates are clean and slightly oiled.
- Skewer the Chicken: Thread marinated chicken pieces onto soaked wooden or metal skewers, leaving space for even cooking.
- Grill: Grill the skewers for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and has grill marks. The internal temperature should reach 165°F.
- Finish with Sauce: If there’s leftover marinade, boil it to use as a sauce after simmering to kill bacteria.
- Serve: Remove from the grill, garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds, and enjoy warm.
Notes
Feel free to substitute chicken with tofu or shrimp for a different twist. Pair with a side of steamed veggies or jasmine rice for a complete meal.
