Description
A delightful dish of tender shrimp sautéed in garlic, butter, and a hint of lemon, perfect for family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup white wine (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium-high heat, warm olive oil and butter. Once hot, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the shrimp and a pinch of salt, and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- If using, pour in white wine to deglaze the pan, scraping any brown bits off the bottom. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Stir in the fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley. Optionally, add red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
- Serve over pasta, rice, or crusty bread, and sprinkle with extra parsley for flair.
Notes
Cooking shrimp is all about timing; ensure the skillet is hot enough for a nice sear. Avoid overcrowding the pan to achieve the best results.
