Description

A delightful and nostalgic tart made with fresh figs, buttery pastry, and a hint of vanilla and citrus.

Ingredients

  • Fresh Figs
  • All-Butter Pie Crust
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Lemon Zest
  • Almonds (sliced or slivered)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out your pie crust and fit it into a tart pan, pricking the bottom with a fork.
  3. Slice the fresh figs into quarters and arrange them in the tart shell.
  4. Sprinkle figs with granulated sugar, a dash of vanilla extract, and the lemon zest.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the crust is golden and the figs are soft.
  6. Allow to cool slightly and sprinkle with almonds before serving.
  7. Serve warm or at room temperature, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

Notes

For best results, use ripe figs and allow the tart to cool slightly before slicing. Avoid overcrowding figs for better balance.
