Description

Spicy and savory meatballs draped in a zesty sauce, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or pork (or lean chicken/turkey)
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce (Sriracha recommended)
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped (or scallions)
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a baking sheet.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, soy sauce, hot sauce, chopped green onions, and beaten egg.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
  4. Place the meatballs on the baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes until cooked through and browned.
  5. For the sauce, mix equal parts soy sauce and hot sauce in a saucepan over medium heat and simmer until thickened.
  6. Remove meatballs from the oven, drizzle with sauce, and toss gently to coat.

Notes

These meatballs can be served as an appetizer, tossed in noodle salads, or enjoyed with rice. Substitute ingredients as desired for variety.
