- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup milk
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 cup Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, crushed
- ½ cup breadcrumbs (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a muffin pan.
- Cook the macaroni according to package directions until al dente, then drain.
- Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, whisk in flour, and cook for about a minute.
- Slowly add milk, stirring until smooth, and allow it to simmer for about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheeses until melted and creamy, then add a handful of crushed Cheetos.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked macaroni, cheese sauce, beaten eggs, and the rest of the crushed Cheetos.
- Spoon the mixture into the muffin pan, filling each cup about three-quarters full.
- Top with additional crushed Cheetos and breadcrumbs if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the tops are golden and slightly crispy.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Avoid overcooking the pasta to maintain the texture. Adjust the spice level based on your audience.
