Description
A modern twist on classic churros, these Fluffy Air Fryer Churro Bites are light, airy, and coated in cinnamon sugar for a delightful treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup milk
- 2 tsp cinnamon (for coating)
- 1/4 cup sugar (for coating)
- Cooking spray (for air frying)
Instructions
- Prepare the dough: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. In a separate bowl, beat the melted butter, egg, and milk until smooth. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet until just combined.
- Shape the churro bites: Lightly flour your hands and roll the dough into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Air fry: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray, then place the churro bites in a single layer. Air fry for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and puffy.
- Coat in cinnamon sugar: Mix together sugar and cinnamon in a shallow bowl. Once the churro bites are done, roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture while they’re still warm.
- Serve with a dipping sauce, such as chocolate or dulce de leche.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute coconut oil for butter. For gluten-free, use a gluten-free flour blend.
