Instructions
- Prepare the yeast mixture: In a small bowl, combine yeast with warm milk and sugar. Let sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Mix the dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Combine wet ingredients: Whisk pumpkin puree, melted butter, and egg until smooth.
- Combine everything: Pour the yeast mixture into the pumpkin mixture and add to dry ingredients. Stir until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough: On a floured surface, knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First rise: Shape into a ball, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Make the filling: Mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until blended.
- Roll out the dough: Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spread the filling: Spread the butter and sugar mixture over the dough.
- Roll and slice: Roll tightly and cut into 12 pieces.
- Second rise: Let the rolls rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Frosting: Cream together cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk for the frosting.
- Serve: Cool rolls slightly and drizzle with frosting before serving.

For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with coconut oil and use almond milk.
