- 1 lb beef roast (ribeye or sirloin), thinly sliced
- 8 oz cremini or shiitake mushrooms, sliced
- 1 can crescent roll dough
- 4 oz provolone or Swiss cheese, sliced
- 1 cup au jus (homemade or pre-made)
- Fresh parsley or thyme, for garnish
- Olive oil, for sautéing
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Sauté the mushrooms in olive oil over medium heat until tender and caramelized.
- Season the beef with fresh herbs, salt, and pepper.
- Assemble the squares by unrolling the crescent dough on a greased baking sheet, adding the mushrooms, beef, and cheese, then folding and sealing.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Prepare the au jus in a saucepan while baking.
- Slice the squares and serve with warm au jus for dipping.
Notes
Allow squares to cool slightly before slicing to prevent cheese from oozing out. Serve with a fresh salad or roasted vegetables.
