Description

Delightful French Dip Squares featuring savory beef and earthy mushrooms nestled in buttery crescent dough, perfect for sharing with family and friends.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef roast (ribeye or sirloin), thinly sliced
  • 8 oz cremini or shiitake mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 can crescent roll dough
  • 4 oz provolone or Swiss cheese, sliced
  • 1 cup au jus (homemade or pre-made)
  • Fresh parsley or thyme, for garnish
  • Olive oil, for sautéing
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté the mushrooms in olive oil over medium heat until tender and caramelized.
  3. Season the beef with fresh herbs, salt, and pepper.
  4. Assemble the squares by unrolling the crescent dough on a greased baking sheet, adding the mushrooms, beef, and cheese, then folding and sealing.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Prepare the au jus in a saucepan while baking.
  7. Slice the squares and serve with warm au jus for dipping.

Notes

Allow squares to cool slightly before slicing to prevent cheese from oozing out. Serve with a fresh salad or roasted vegetables.
