Ingredients

- 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), sliced against the grain
- 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces
- 3–4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1 tsp sesame oil, for nutty flavor
- Optional: Red pepper flakes, for heat
Instructions
- Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips.
- Trim the tough ends off the asparagus and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Add minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the beef, seasoning with salt and pepper, and sauté until browned, about 4-5 minutes.
- Mix in the asparagus and soy sauce, stir-frying for another 3-4 minutes until the asparagus is bright green and tender-crisp.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve hot.
Notes
For variations, substitute the beef with chicken or tofu, or swap asparagus for green beans.
