Description

A delightful blend of tender beef, fresh asparagus, and aromatic garlic, perfect for a cozy family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (sirloin or flank steak), sliced against the grain
  • 1 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 34 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: 1 tsp sesame oil, for nutty flavor
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes, for heat

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips.
  2. Trim the tough ends off the asparagus and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Add minced garlic and stir for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add the beef, seasoning with salt and pepper, and sauté until browned, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Mix in the asparagus and soy sauce, stir-frying for another 3-4 minutes until the asparagus is bright green and tender-crisp.
  7. Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed. Serve hot.

Notes

For variations, substitute the beef with chicken or tofu, or swap asparagus for green beans.
