- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup oil (or melted butter)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Green food coloring or matcha powder
- ½ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, and oil (or melted butter). Mix in eggs and vanilla until smooth, then incorporate green food coloring or matcha powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Cover the dough with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough, roll into balls, and coat in powdered sugar.
- Place on a lined baking tray, leaving space for spreading.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set and the surface is cracked.
- Cool on the baking tray for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Enjoy with a glass of milk or hot cocoa!
