Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined.
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half.
- Dip each half into the egg mixture for 2–3 minutes per side.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat with butter until bubbly.
- Cook the soaked rolls until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes on each side.
- Serve with maple syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.
Notes
Allow the soaked rolls to rest for 5 minutes before cooking for a custard texture. Don’t rush the cooking process to achieve a perfect crisp.
