Description

A delightful breakfast treat made with soft Hawaiian rolls, eggs, and spices, perfect for family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (whole or plant-based)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Maple syrup or honey for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg until combined.
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half.
  3. Dip each half into the egg mixture for 2–3 minutes per side.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat with butter until bubbly.
  5. Cook the soaked rolls until golden brown, about 3–4 minutes on each side.
  6. Serve with maple syrup, fresh fruit, or whipped cream.

Notes

Allow the soaked rolls to rest for 5 minutes before cooking for a custard texture. Don’t rush the cooking process to achieve a perfect crisp.
