  • 4 oz sharp cheddar cheese
  • 4 oz mozzarella cheese
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sautéed garlic mushrooms (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (basil or thyme, optional)

Instructions

  1. Prep the ingredients: Gather your ingredients and sauté mushrooms with olive oil and minced garlic until tender.
  2. Butter the rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and butter the outsides generously.
  3. Layer the cheese: Place cheese on the bottom half of the rolls, add mushrooms and herbs, then top with another slice of cheese.
  4. Grill the sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium heat, cook until the bottom is golden brown, about 3-4 minutes, then flip and grill the other side.
  5. Serve warm: Remove from skillet, slice, and serve with a side of fresh fruit or salad.

Notes

For added flavor, sprinkle garlic powder inside the sandwich before grilling. Use room temperature cheese for better melting.
