Description

Delightful bars combining rich chocolate, sweet coconut, and crunchy almonds, perfect for family gatherings and sweet moments.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups sweetened shredded coconut
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup whole or slivered almonds (toasted if desired)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, and almond extract until well incorporated.
  3. Spread the coconut mixture into a greased 9×9 inch baking dish and press down firmly.
  4. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, or until the coconut is lightly golden.
  5. While the base cools, melt chocolate and butter together until smooth.
  6. Pour the melted chocolate over the baked coconut base and spread evenly.
  7. Sprinkle chopped almonds on top or fold them into the chocolate.
  8. Allow to cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until the chocolate sets.
  9. Cut into squares or rectangles and serve.

Notes

For a dairy-free option, use coconut or almond-based condensed milk and a dairy-free butter substitute.
