Scale
- 4 cups all-purpose flour (or bread flour)
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (about 110°F)
- 2/3 cup baking soda
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon garlic flakes
- 1 teaspoon onion flakes
- Coarse sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.

- In a large pot, bring 10 cups of water and baking soda to a boil. Boil each pretzel for 30 seconds per side.
- Transfer to a parchment-lined baking sheet, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with everything bagel topping.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
- Allow to cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
Notes
For a dairy-free option, substitute butter with olive oil. You can also try different toppings like Parmesan cheese.
