Description
Deliciously chewy chocolate bars perfect for holiday gatherings, made with dark chocolate and a touch of sea salt for an unforgettable treat.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt, plus more for sprinkling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter and chocolate together in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth.
- Combine granulated and brown sugars in a large bowl. Pour the melted chocolate mixture in and stir until well blended.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour and sea salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add this mixture to the chocolate mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Spread the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle a little sea salt on top. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before lifting out and cutting into squares.
Notes
Watch the baking time closely to avoid overbaking. The bars will continue to cook as they cool, so aim for slightly underbaked in the center.
