Description

Delightful Jack-O-Lantern hand pies filled with spiced pumpkin and mushrooms, perfect for fall celebrations.


Ingredients

  • Pie Crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup Pumpkin Puree
  • 1 cup Mixed mushrooms (cremini and button)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Fresh thyme
  • 1 tsp Fresh sage
  • 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp Ground nutmeg
  • 1 Egg (for wash or milk for vegan option)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Dough: Roll out the pie crust to about 1/8 inch thick and cut out pumpkin shapes. Carve faces for Jack-O-Lanterns.
  2. Prepare the Filling: Sauté minced garlic in olive oil. Add sliced mushrooms and cook until softened. Stir in pumpkin puree, herbs, and spices.
  3. Fill the Pies: Spoon filling into the center of each pumpkin cutout, moisten edges with water, add another cutout on top, and seal.
  4. Bake: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Cool and Serve: Let cool slightly before serving warm.
