Description

A fiery and flavorful Korean dish featuring boneless chicken marinated in gochugaru, soy sauce, and honey, and sautéed to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless chicken thighs or breasts
  • 2 tablespoons gochugaru (Korean chili powder)
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Sliced onions (optional)
  • Bell peppers, sliced (optional)
  • Shiitake mushrooms, sliced (optional)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Chopped green onions, for garnish
  • Steamed rice, for serving
  • Kimchi, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, gochugaru, honey, minced garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and black pepper. Add chicken and coat well. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, cooking until browned on all sides (4-5 minutes for breasts, 6-8 minutes for thighs).
  4. If desired, add sliced onions, bell peppers, or mushrooms, cooking until tender.
  5. Before serving, garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  6. Serve hot with steamed rice and kimchi.

Notes

Enjoy with fresh lettuce leaves for wrapping the chicken.
